Pie Contest

Handmade Pie Contest Rules

  • Pies must be entered in the name of the person who made it.

  • Contestants may enter up to three pies

  • Each pie must be made from scratch and based in a 9 – 10 inch covered pie

    plate/pan labeled with your name, to be returned after pie sales are completed.

  • Each entry must include the name of the maker and name of the pie (be creative with your name!)

  • No Entry Fee - Pie Slices will be sold to the public for $5 each and proceeds will benefit future Bronc Day Festivals


  • Drop off pies between 8:30 am to 9:30 am at the Farm Stand

  • Judging starts at approximately 11 am

  • Winners will be announced at roughly 12 pm by the parade awards announcer.

  • Pie Slices go on sale at 12:30 pm

Categories (1st, 2nd, 3rd prizes in each)

  • 12 and under division

  • Amateur Bakers division

  • Restaurant/Bakery division


All pies will be identified for judging by an anonymous number. In the case of a tie, judges will break the tie and select a winner.

Pies will be assigned points by judges, in four areas:

  • Overall appearance 25 points

  • Crust (color, texture, doneness, flavor) 25 points

  • Filling (consistency, flavor) 25 points

  • Creativity 25 points
